A Scriptural Plan to Win Your Neighborhood

Our mission as Christians is to spread the kingdom of God by words and actions where we live, work, and shop (and that includes big box stores that end in -Mart). Our neighbor is anyone we meet and we need to be ready to bless everywhere we go. The whole world is full of people with problems, depression, anxiety, and bad attitudes - Christians are Light and Salt and we carry the presence of God with us.

Luke 10:3-9 (text below)
1. Bless your neighbors: from verse 5 ("peace be") - to bless  means to say good things about your neighbors. Stop criticizing them (cursing) and start speaking good things about them AND to them.
2. Fellowship with them: from verse 7 (in the same house) Make friends - just for the purpose of having fun. Being and having fun without a spiritual agenda conveys acceptance - It says we love and accept people as they are.
3. Minister to: from verse 9 (heal the sick) This simply means to meet needs - whether they are physical, emotional, or spiritual. DO things for them.
4. Preach the Gospel: from verse 9 (and say unto them, the Kingdom of God has come close to you...) If you have faithfully and honestly executed the first three steps, this one will flow naturally.

Luke 10:3-9
3 Go your ways: behold, I send you forth as lambs among wolves.
4 Carry neither purse, nor scrip, nor shoes: and salute no man by the way.
5 And into whatsoever house ye enter, first say, Peace be to this house.
6 And if the son of peace be there, your peace shall rest upon it: if not, it shall turn to you again.
7 And in the same house remain, eating and drinking such things as they give: for the labourer is worthy of his hire. Go not from house to house.
8 And into whatsoever city ye enter, and they receive you, eat such things as are set before you:
9 And heal the sick that are therein, and say unto them, The kingdom of God is come nigh unto you.
