Devotional: Living as Royalty in God's Kingdom - Day 3

Day 3: Royal Identity, Priestly Function

Reading:
1 Peter 2:9-10
9 But ye are a chosen generation, a royal priesthood, an holy nation, a peculiar people; that ye should shew forth the praises of him who hath called you out of darkness into his marvellous light;
10 Which in time past were not a people, but are now the people of God: which had not obtained mercy, but now have obtained mercy.

Revelation 1:4-6
4 John to the seven churches which are in Asia: Grace be unto you, and peace, from him which is, and which was, and which is to come; and from the seven Spirits which are before his throne;
5 And from Jesus Christ, who is the faithful witness, and the first begotten of the dead, and the prince of the kings of the earth. Unto him that loved us, and washed us from our sins in his own blood,
6 And hath made us kings and priests unto God and his Father; to him be glory and dominion for ever and ever. Amen.

Devotional: You are royalty. Not someday, not in heaven only, but right now. God has made you a king and priest—royalty with access to the throne room. As a priest, you represent others to God through intercession. As royalty, you represent God's authority to the world. This isn't arrogance; it's identity. You were once "not a people," but now you're God's own special possession, called from darkness into marvelous light. Your purpose? To show forth His praises—to demonstrate what happens when the King reigns. This royal-priestly calling means you don't beg God to do what He's already empowered you to do. You don't live as a spiritual pauper when you're heaven's royalty. Today, walk in the dignity of your identity. Intercede as a priest and decree as royalty.
