Devotional: Living as Royalty in God's Kingdom - Day 4
Day 4: Reigning in Life
Reading:
Romans 5:1
Therefore being justified by faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ:
Ephesians 1:19-23
19 And what is the exceeding greatness of his power to us-ward who believe, according to the working of his mighty power,
20 Which he wrought in Christ, when he raised him from the dead, and set him at his own right hand in the heavenly places,
21 Far above all principality, and power, and might, and dominion, and every name that is named, not only in this world, but also in that which is to come:
22 And hath put all things under his feet, and gave him to be the head over all things to the church,
23 Which is his body, the fulness of him that filleth all in all.
Devotional: Death reigned through Adam's sin, affecting even those who didn't seek it. But "much more"—these powerful words shift everything—those who receive grace and righteousness shall reign in life through Jesus Christ. Not reign after death, but reign in life now. The same power that raised Christ from death and seated Him above all authority has been given to the church, His body. You're not waiting passively for heaven while barely surviving earth. You're called to exercise Christ's authority over everything under your influence: your thoughts, health, finances, and circumstances. Anything in your life lacking righteousness, peace, and joy can be brought under kingdom rule. Today, recognize one area where death has been reigning and claim your authority to reign in life instead.
