Devotional: Heavy Lifting - Day One
Day 1: The Helper Within You
Reading: John 14:15-18, 25-27
15 If ye love me, keep my commandments.
16 And I will pray the Father, and he shall give you another Comforter, that he may abide with you for ever;
17 Even the Spirit of truth; whom the world cannot receive, because it seeth him not, neither knoweth him: but ye know him; for he dwelleth with you, and shall be in you.
18 I will not leave you comfortless: I will come to you.
John 14:25-27
25 These things have I spoken unto you, being yet present with you.
26 But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.
27 Peace I leave with you, my peace I give unto you: not as the world giveth, give I unto you. Let not your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
Devotional: Jesus promised not to leave us as orphans. The Holy Spirit—our Comforter, our Paraclete—is one called alongside to help. This isn't just theological truth; it's your daily reality. If you're born again, you already know Him because He dwells within you. Stop looking at others who seem more spiritual and recognize this: the same Holy Spirit who inspired Scripture, who hovered over creation, who empowered Jesus—He lives in you. Today, shift your perspective from "I wish I knew the Holy Spirit better" to "I know Him, and I'm learning to flow with Him more." He teaches you all things and brings God's words to your remembrance. Peace isn't just promised; it's present through Him.
Reflection: What would change in your daily life if you truly believed the Holy Spirit is with you right now, ready to help?
